Williams Automotive is a full service automotive repair facility that works on all types of vehicles foreign and domestic. Along with mechanical repair we offer body shop service, radiator repair, and 24 hour towing along with being a satellite location for HERTZ rental car service. By guaranteeing our work for 12 months or 12000 miles, hiring the best available technicians in the area, and continuing our commitment to supporting the Emporia community we have been able to grow and expand each year since our start.
Williams Auto Service began in 1985 in Madison, Kansas, a small town approximately 20 miles south of Emporia. The business was comprised of a small one bay shop with Rex being the sole owner and operator. In 1987 Rex purchased a single wrecker and added towing to the list of services provided at Williams Auto Service.

In 1989 the business was moved to Emporia and renamed Williams Automotive. The business was in a rented building and was again comprised of a single bay shop with Rex and a secretary running the business. During that time Rex added two additional wreckers and the towing company began as a full time operation.

In 1993 the business was moved to our present location at 3105 West 6th Avenue in Emporia and incorporated1995. The original building was approximately 8000 square feet and was comprised of several service bays to better accommodate the increase in business. In addition to the three wreckers already in service a fourth wrecker was purchased to handle towing for tractor/ trailer and other large vehicles.

Since the move to our present location continual expansion has taken place to bring the building to over 18,000 square feet. With the expansion of the building a tire and alignment center and a modern full service collision repair center were added to meet the needs of our customers. Along with the expansion, a continual upgrade was taking place with the addition of more wreckers to meet the growing demand for a quality based professional towing and recovery service. The towing and recovery service now encompasses eight wreckers that are anchored by a 70 ton sliding rotator that is the only one of its kind in Kansas.

As the business continued to grow, and in order to satisfy customer needs, a full service lube shop was acquired in 2005 and re-named Pit Stop Fast Lube. It is the only true fast lube located in Emporia and the continual customer growth has made it a valuable asset to the Williams Automotive Group of Companies.

In 2008 Williams Truck and Trailer was opened at 377 West Highway 50 in Emporia as the tractor and trailer repair service was growing at a faster rate than the main shop at Williams Automotive could handle. The truck and trailer repair center is situated on approximately 20 acres of which 4.5 acres has been developed including a 12,000 square foot state of the art repair facility. The truck center not only handles truck and trailer repair but also encompasses RV repair, specialty vehicles such as railroad equipment and other repairs such as farm equipment.
