Newman Regional Health is committed to providing high quality healthcare to the people of Lyon County and the surrounding communities of Emporia and the counties of Lyon, Chase, Morris, Greenwood, Wabaunsee, Osage and Coffey. For more than 88 years, Newman Regional Health has expanded to meet the needs of a growing community and has established a tradition of excellent health care in east central Kansas. Newman Regional Health is accredited by the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program.

Centrally located within the city of Emporia, Newman Regional Health is a 99 bed governmental entity operated on a not-for-profit basis. Although we are a county hospital, we receive no financial support from Lyon County. The hospital is supported by donations and payment for services. Newman Regional Health remains a local hospital; owned by the people of Lyon County and governed by a Board of Trustees made up of community leaders. Newman Regional Health is a teaching hospital and is home to the ESU Newman Division of Nursing.

More than 500 employees, 300 volunteers, and 130 physicians, of which 28 are on our active medical staff, and many other professionals make up the patient care team at Newman Regional Health. The hospital provides a wide range of inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services.
